インドネシア通信vol.39 「バジャンラトゥお寺」

先週、私はリンギンラワンのお寺についてお話しました。モジョケルトにはリンギンラワン以外にもいくつかお寺があります。モジョケルトにあるお寺はすべてマジャパヒト王国からの遺産です。

私はバジャンラトゥというお寺を訪れました。バジャンラトゥはクレイトンハムレット、テモン村、テロウラン小区域、モジョケルトリージェンシーに位置しており、リンギンラワンから約3.5キロの距離にあります。バジャンラトゥは未だ多くの秘密があり、その機能は不明のままです。

インドネシアの考古学者はバジャンラトゥはマジャパヒト王国の王「ジャヤネガラ」と繋がりがあることを主張しています。単語バジャンは小人を意味し、ジャヤネガラは「小人王」「小人女王」のニックネームを持っていました。一部の専門家はバジャンラトゥはジャヤネガラの名誉の為に建設されたと述べました。

お寺のデザイン「パヅラクサ」は上下に行く階段で屋根の形をしています。人々はバジャンラトゥはマジャパヒト宮殿への門の一つであったこと信じています。
バジャンラトゥは、背が高く、細身の構造で、高さは16.5メートル、屋根部分には複雑なレリーフ装飾が施されています。屋根の形状は、「メルー」または山と呼ばれ、屋根の上に正方形のブロックと、いくつかのピラミッド型の層で造られています。第三の層の上には太陽のレリーフ彫刻があり、マジャパヒト帝国の記章であると考えられています。

バジャンラトゥはとても整備されており、ガーデンエリアには美しい花がたくさん植えられています。バジャンラトゥお寺には入場券もありません。寺院のほとんどは、入り口にリンギンラワンと同じシステムを使用しています。

Candi Bajang Ratu
Minggu lalu, saya menceritakan tentang candi Wringin Lawang. Ada beberapa candi di Mojokerto selain candi Wringin Lawang. Semua candi-candi yang ada di Mojokerto adalah peninggalan dari kerajaan Majapahit. Pada waktu itu, saya juga mengunjungi candi Bajang Ratu. Candi Bajang Ratu terletak di Kraton Hamlet, desa Temon, distrik Trowulan, kabupaten Mojokerto. Sekitar 3,5 kilometer dari candi Wringin Lawang. Candi Bajang Ratu memiliki banyak rahasia tersembunyi dan fungsinya masih belum diketahui.
Arkeolog Indonesia mengklaim bahwa nama Bajang Ratu berkaitan dengan raja Jayanegara dari Kerajaan Majapahit. Kata ‘Bajang’ berarti kerdil dan raja Jayanegara memiliki nama panggilan yaitu ‘Raja Kerdil’ atau ‘Bajang Ratu’. Beberapa ahli mengatakan bahwa candi Bajang Ratu dibangun untuk menghormati raja Jayanegara. Desain candi mempertahankan bentuk gerbang paduraksa, atau gerbang beratap dengan tangga naik dan turun. Hal ini menyebabkan beberapa orang percaya bahwa Bajang Ratu adalah salah satu pintu gerbang ke Istana Majapahit.

Bajang Ratu Temple
Last week, I talked about Wringin Lawang temple. There are some temples in Mojokerto besides Wringin Lawang temple. All of the temples in Mojokerto are the heritage sites from the kingdom of Majapahit. At that time, I also visited Bajang Ratu temple. Bajang Ratu temple is located in Kraton Hamlet, Temon Village, Trowulan Subdistrict, Mojokerto Regency. It is about 3.5 kilometers away from Wringin Lawang temple. Bajang Ratu temple hides many secrets and its functions remains unknown.
Indonesian archaeologist claims that the name Bajang Ratu is closely connected to King Jayanegara of Majapahit kingdom. The word ‘Bajang’ means a dwarf and King Jayanegara had a nickname ‘Dwarf King’ or ‘Bajang Ratu’. Some experts said that Bajang Ratu temple was constructed in honor of king Jayanegara. The design of the temple retains the shape of a paduraksa gate, or a roofed gate with stairs going up and down. It leads some people to believe that Bajang Ratu was one of the gates to Majapahit Palace.
The form of the structure is tall and slender, rising to a height of 16.5 metres and displaying intricate relief decoration, especially on the roof section. The shape of the roof is called a meru or a mountain. It consists of several pyramidal layers with a square block on top of the roof. On the third layer, there is a relief sculpture of the sun, which is believed to be the insignia of Majapahit Empire.
The area of Bajang Ratu temple is really well maintained. There are a lot of beautiful flowers planted in the garden area. There is also no admission ticket in Bajang Ratu temple. Most of the temple sites use the same system for the entrance.
